International week 2019 – Challenge your borders (too)

 

This year, International Week 2019 will be held from 4 to 8 February 2019 at the HAN campus in Nijmegen. The aim of the International Week is sharing experiences, practices and knowledge between students and lecturers in the international context of Health and Social Work. This year’s general theme is Challenge your borders too: health and Social Work in international perspective. The main target group of the International Week are second year students of the Bachelor programmes of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies. The International Week provides students and lecturers the opportunity to meet international colleagues and discuss the latest developments in the field and in education.

 

International student program: Urban Exploration
This programme will be organized next to the annual International Week in Nijmegen. The programme aims to enhance awareness of different kinds of public health issues. Subjects will be studied and adapted both from an European perspective and from the the context of the hosting country. Students will be divided over several neighborhoods of Nijmegen. Social structure and public health care will be studied through visits of health care organizations and interviews with local health care professionals an citizens.

Participants need to be nominated by their university. Please contact your local international coordinator. After nomination, student need to register at: Suzanne.Koning@han.nl
Registrations opens at 1 October and closes 15 December

Extra costs:
– Accommodation, for example couch surfing or a youth hostel
– Meals not included in (social) program
– Transportation to airport: €40,- return by train
