First of all may I take this opportunity to welcome you all back from your vacation and wish you and your students great success in the forthcoming academic year. COHEHRE Academy has many events planned over the year as short courses and workshops. The Calendar contains information about these established and new opportunities. I hope you will be able to participate in some or all of them!
 
The Council met in June in Setubal, Portugal. We always try to meet the Conference planning team at their home university if funds allow. We also try to keep meeting costs as low as possible. As airfares and hotel costs in Portugal are lower than in our base in Ghent, we were able to meet both objectives. In this and also in our recent telephone meeting we have been able to continue planning for an exciting conference in 2017 as well as focussing on the future development of COHEHRE along three strands
 

 
Thanks to a lot of hard work from our Office Manager, Isabelle Delariviere and colleagues at Artevelde University College in Ghent, our new website will soon be going live. Our COHEHRE logo has also been given a face lift to reflect the dynamic nature and energy within our Consortium.
 
There will be Council Elections next year so please take the time to read about this within News&Events. We will be very sad to lose Liisa Koskinen as a Council member. She has made a huge contribution to our work. However we will all be standing ready to welcome and support our new Council member in April.
 
All good wishes for 2016 -17 and I look forward to seeing you at the Conference in Setúbal.
